All About Wildwood
Wildwood School
Wildwood School, established in 1978, is a close-knit community for students from Pre-K to Grade 8. Despite it's longstanding presence in the Wildwood Community, it has never had a playground of it's own. Instead, Wildwood School's approximately 300 students rely on a small and inaccessible playground structure owned by the City of Saskatoon. With the collective support of the Wildwood School staff, Parent-Teacher Association, and School Community Council, there is a collective effort to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging play environment for the students of Wildwood School.

The Wildwood Community
Wildwood is an established, family-oriented residential neighbourhood in southeast Saskatoon with a population of over 8,300 residents. The area boasts a higher-than-average ethnic diversity index for the city, and a significant number of families with young children. This stable and engaged demographic requires high-quality, local recreational amenities. The current city-owned playground equipment is outdated, a safety concern, and lacks inclusive design features that would allow children of all abilities to play together. The Wildwood Playground Project, with the support of the Wildwood Community Association, will directly address this gap in community infrastructure.
